REGISTRATION PROCESS
To register for this retreat sponsored by
the Brahma Vihara Foundation at the Cloud Mountain Retreat
Center, please print and mail a completed registration
form with full payment of the retreat fee to: Eileen McClintock, 108-A East Mountain St., Glendale, CA 91207. Upon receipt of the registration
form and a check, you will be sent a confirmation by email. Additional information about the retreat and the retreat center will be sent by letter about one month prior to the retreat. Registration is limited. Every effort is made to assign retreatants to a single room. There is a $25 charge
for returned checks.
ARRIVAL& DEPARTURE
Registration will be available on the first day of the
retreat between 4 and 7 PM. A light dinner is served at
6 PM. Orientation will begin at 8 PM, and the first group
meeting will begin at 8:30 PM. Departure on the last day
will be about 2 PM following the last meals and final
chores.
PARTIAL
ATTENDANCE, LATE ARRIVALS & EARLY DEPARTURES
Unless specifically noted, partial attendance on retreat is
not encouraged, nor are late arrivals and early departures
of a non-emergency nature. It is most respectful to the continuity
of the group energy as a whole, for the smooth running of
the retreat, and the retreat center, and for your own experience
of full introduction, completion and closure, that all participants
plan to attend the full retreat. If you would like to request
partial attendance or need to arrange a late arrival or early
departure, please address this issue in advance with both
the retreat center and the retreat registrar.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Brahma-Vihara Foundation offers a limited number of work-exchange
scholarships at each retreat held at Cloud Mountain Retreat
Center. They are generally given out on a first-come, first-served
basis, with no formal application process, and usually generate
a 50% discount toward the retreat fee.
MEALS
Meals are vegetarian, with the main meal at midday. Tea, fruit and light snacks are available throughout the day. Healthy, simple, well-balanced meals are served, and some dietary restrictions can be accommodated with advance notice. Refrigerator space is available for participants who need to bring specialty
foods to augment this diet. Please be certain to note dairy
or wheat free diets, as well as any medically dangerous foods,
on your registration form.
TRAVEL
Driving instructions to Cloud Mountain will be included in
the packet of materials you will receive about two weeks prior
to the retreat. If you wish to share a ride, please indicate
that on the registration form. Contact the retreat registrar
concerning any other travel questions.
OTHER INFORMATION
Retreats sponsored by Brahma Vihara Foundation are held primarily
in silence. Every effort will be made to assign all retreatants to a single room.
Participants on all retreats are asked
to offer service to the retreat center during a daily work
period requiring 30-60 minutes daily. Participants are also
asked to participate in a final group cleanup of the center
at the end of each retreat. It is helpful to plan that you
will not be leaving the center until 2:00 or so on the final
day.
